Never Too Far Gone
Hi, I’m Heather, and this is my podcast about how to rebuild communities that have become run-down or unsustainable. I created Systemic Renewal, an action research methodology that I have used in a range of settings in the process of renewal, which I am now sharing with the world through the Academy of Systemic Renewal. This is a little gift to listeners who are working in hard places that may even, at times, feel too hard. I have worked in legal practice, community development, education at primary, secondary and tertiary level, and as an Anglican priest and I believe that nobody and no situation is ever too far gone. http://heathercetrangolo.com

This is the fourth of a six-part series called Stillness, a practical guide to creating pause in the midst of conflict. 'Stillness' is not a meditation or spiritual practice, but the art of suspending judgement to observe what is happening in a conflict, be it an inner-conflict, intergroup or intragroup storming. This series draws from John Paul Lederach's book, The Moral Imagination (2005) in which he describes the place of patience, place, time and serendipity in the practice of peacebuilding. This episode shares a strategy for practicing Stillness by observing time. This week's reflection is for anyone who ever feels small, unsuccessful, or as though progress is being made far too slowly. ** Please bear with the sound in this one ... it was recorded offsite and at times Heather's speech sounds a little altered.
